By the numbers

62 cents: Per-share dividend, payable April 15, a 50 percent increase.

15.9 percent: Growth in skier visits across the company over the previous year.

15.7 percent: Growth in revenue per available lodging room over the previous year.

Vail will see a new chairlift and the start of Epic Discovery summer program thanks to the success of Vail Resorts with strong second quarter growth reports.  Revenue is up for Vail Resorts in pass sales, lodging, ski schools and restaurants.

Thanks to Vail Resort’s “geographic diversification”, poor snowfall in Tahoe has been supplemented by their Colorado and Utah resorts.

More benefits Vail will receive from Vail Resort’s success includes replacing Avanti lift at Vail with a 6 man chair and improving snow blowing at Beaver Creek.  Another $10 Million will be spent on Vail’s summer program, Epic Discovery.  Vail will get a mountain coaster, canopy tours and a summer tubing area.
