USA Pro Cycling Challenge 2013: Stage 6 Features Classic Time Trial Route in Vail

This year’s USA Pro Cycling Challenge 2013 is from August 19 – 25, 2013, and will showcase some of the sport’s top cyclists and pro cycling teams. Participating in the USA Pro Challenge 2013 are a total of 128 competitors representing 25 countries, showing that this Colorado race has truly become a popular one in the cycling calendar. This year’s competition includes 7 stages, with stage 1 in Aspen and the final stage in Denver on August 25. On day one of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge 2013, racers will compete along a circuit route in Aspen and Snowmass Village. The route involves 3 laps that begin in the heart of downtown Aspen, head out to Snowmass Village, and climb back in downtown Aspen. Stage 2 of the race leaves Aspen by way of a massive climb up Independence Pass, and finishes in Breckenridge. From there, the USA Pro Challenge cyclists ride from Breckenridge to Steamboat Springs in stage 3 of the race. Before descending upon Vail, the cyclists race a leg from Steamboat Springs to Beaver Creek. The Lodge at Vail reveals pool renovation

The Lodge at Vail, a RockResort, this month revealed a nearly $1 million renovation to its outdoor spaces. Now called Pool One, the pool area at the 72-room property now features two large side-by-side, in-ground hot tubs and three gas fireplaces, as well as a new sound system, full-service bar and kitchen and landscaping. Every Sunday the lodge hosts a free pool party open to the public from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring local ingredients from the Vail Farmer’s Market that day. The menu, overseen by chef Rudy Williams, changes weekly and features beer pairings from Bonfire Brewery. The property, which is located in the Vail Village center, also has two restaurants, including Elways’ Vail, which opened in 2011, and a 7,725-square-foot spa and fitness center.
